Compass Show
We'll be attending the Compass tradeshow put on by BPMW, the same folks that that put on the Capsule tradeshow. It's specific for shoe companies. We'll be showing our Holiday 2008 and Spring 2009 shoes.

ARRIVALS
Our shipment has finally arrived and we're shipping as fast as we can. We apologize to our customers who have been patiently waiting for our shoes. As some of you know, our shoes were caught in customs for just under a month. We have received them and we're shipping every account. Check your local stores late next week for their arrival. We'll be adding all styles to our online store after we get your local stores shipped. Thanks.

US CUSTOMS
U.S. Customs has been taking their time releasing our shipment. We apologize for the delay to those of you who have pre-ordered shoes and to our accounts that have had their orders placed for months. The 28th of May has come and gone and unfortunately we're still awaiting the arrival of our goods. We will be compensating those of you who did pre-order to make up for the extra wait caused by Customs. It shouldn't be much longer. We'll begin shipping as soon as they arrive. Patrick E. Munger for Zuriick
Meet Patrick. Patrick is a local artist that has been hand dying shoes of his own for the last little while. You can see his work at L.O.S. as well as purchase his work. When we caught wind of what he was doing the first thing that came to mind was "how can we take advantage of this guy"? We contacted him to possibly work with us on doing some custom colorways in a few of our styles. He hand dyes and alters the colors with various processes. He has made some amazing colorways and we're here sharing the first pair. Check out the Beata below. It's been altered to have a wool look with almost a neon yellow insole lining. It's awesome. This shoe is available in a size 11 only and there is only one available. It's for sale in our online store.

Adjö Dave
Last fall we were introduced to our now great friend Dave Fryer. He began interning for Zuriick. Dave is an amazingly talented person. He helped us with designing, shipping and keeping our office alive. Dave is moving to Sweden for a few years to pursue his dreams. Thanks Dave for everything you've done for Zuriick and for sharing your time with us personally. We wish you luck and you've always got a spot here at Zuriick.

Beatas
We'll be receiving a new shipment in a few weeks. The last two shipments of the Beata have sold out quickly so we're offering a pre-order option for those of you who would like a pair. We're bringing in three colors of the Beata, the original Black with Cream, Charcoal with blue (pictured above) and White with Brown. Please note that they will ship on or around May 28th. We will update shipping dates if there are any changes.
We're also developing a womens line for spring 09. Here is a sneak peek at the "Jackie", the girl version of the Jakob.

I took another trip to visit our factory to see our new production which is due for arrival in the States mid May. The production looks great and we've eliminated any problems we've had in the past deliveries. We'll be receiving 4 new colors in the Ake including a much anticipated all black colorway as well as three colors in the Beata and two colors in a new style the Taylor. The Taylor will be our first low top lace-up.
During this trip I had a few days to lounge around with the guys we work with so we took a trip to Chibi battle ground. Chibi is a pretty historical place. It's where the battle between the three countries took place which became China. I obtained this information through a rough translation, so forgive me if it's a little inaccurate. Here are a few photos from my trip.

We're working on some new ideas for this fall/winter line as well as spring. Here are a couple of the shoes, including an update to the Jakob and the addition of his Older brother Jack Jack. We're tossing around the idea of adding a bag as well as other accessory ideas and outerwear in the fall.

This will destroy you!
A few months ago I stumbled upon This Will Destroy You while I was looking for new bands to listen to. They're not a new band by any means, just new to me. They've been my favorite band to listen to for the last six months or so. When I saw that they were coming to play in Salt Lake I just about creamed my pants. They released an E.P. back in 2005 I believe and just this past winter released their first full length. If you get a chance to see these guys play, don't miss it.
* Just a side note, their E.P. has the best artwork.

A step back in history.
I was laying in bed last night thinking back to the first shipment of Zuriick slip-ons we designed back in the summer of 2005. We made 50 pair of each color. We sold them at two local stores and to friends. We had to put the air holes in ourselves on my kitchen floor because we couldn't communicate well enough with the factory to explain exactly what we wanted. We hand sewed all the bags we shipped them in, which may not seem like much, but we did this up until about six months ago. We wanted to make shoes with color that were simple and slim. We've since cut back on bright colors in shoes and added color in with our tee shirts. The new Ake Lavender slip-on that just came in has brought back some good memories of when we were shoe making virgins. I thought we should share some of the photos from our first shipment so you can see where we started.

Mode Trunk Show
We attended a trunk show at a local store back in November. This gentleman was kind enough to let us photo him wearing the Ake Ghost White slip-on that he has obviously put a lot of miles on. We would love to see more photos like these. If you have any you want to share of the condition your Zuriicks are in, send them in.
UPDATE: I was down in Provo last night watching my dear friends, Return to Sender, melt faces and saw Josh at the show. Since I didn't meet him at the trunk show, I introduced myself so I wouldn't have to refer to him as "gentleman". Everyone, this is Josh. Thanks Josh for liking your Zuriicks.
